charcter paragraph

A key moment for Ellie in tomorrow when the war began when she used the lawnmower as a pyrotechnic, it ia a important  moment for her as a character because it was here first time she has every killed some which results in  trauma. In chapter 7 ellie and two of her friends are hiding from the invaders.  In this moment she is scared that her and her friends are going to get caught. Ellie thinks quickly to protect her friends and escapes from the soldiers by using the lawnmower as a explosive by putting a rag in the gas-tank to create a trail and lighting it . this moment shows the reader that ellie is brave, smart, and capable of leadership.

A quote that shows Ellie’s courage  is on page 90 “For the first time I saw their faces; then I struck the match”. This quote shows that Ellies action saved their lives in a life or death situation. This is a moment that stays with Ellie for a  long time

brain storm
reaping 2 tributes are selected to compete in the hunger games.- best dressed.
Coustuming- light colours, neutral tones, old fashoned , simple.    Boys- dres shirts, pants or shorts       girls- hair tidy dresses or skirts           colours- cold clean , faded- washed and worn a lot     older- clothes mended

effect on viewers - think they are poor -because clothes outdated -peace keepers/ effie in new clean outfits             think- it is a bad living- emotionless all colour has been drianed

Director purpose- comparon juxtapositon of the district & the capitol    -shows theme 'rich vs poor' because dosent have acces to resources like new clothing-

other techniques- make up -style+ status , effie eyelashes are long+ pink and her face is white.. the district has no make up - no access or need for it

what happening- in the capitol, katniss+ peta just getting off train , have never been there before

coustuming- bright, colourful, neon, extranvigant, vibrant, oversized.   looks fancy than causaul.
over the top expensive more than needed to be pratical.   head pieces to match, wigs    both genders over top outfits/wigs/makeup

effect on viewer- think they are rich/ greed - have more than us    Fashon is shocking/ scary to viewer- in your face           shows us how shocked/ different things are for katniss + peeta

director purpose-again shows us theme ' Rich vs Poor' - the people in capitol live in extreme luxary to poverty of district 12    -people in the capitol have everything

make up- over the top - caked on so we know they have lots. men /women both wear it

setting concrete, metal, glass, clean, crisp, futeristic, techinoligcally advanced

in the area of hunger games

coustumings pratical sutibale for fighting - jacket boots shirts, long pants 0 colours that will match surrounding - helps them hide   - tells us about the arena climate  - not going far

effect on viewer feels like they are dressed for war/ hunting -all dressed same uniform      -all look the same- everyone ha the same advantage   - makes us less emotionally attached to indivauals

director purpose rich vs poor-everyone is finaly equal so personal skills become imporntant .
struggle for power-tributes are under the power of the capitol, they have no freedom/ free will at this point

in the reaping scene, costume is used effectivly to show the theme 'Rich vs Poor'.    for example, the potential tributes are dressed in formal shirts, skirts and trousers.   Their clothes are well-worn, weathered and dull.   this make us understand the people in dirstrict 12 are poor because their best clothes are old and faded compared to the capitol representative effie trinket .      this is done to show the juxtaposition between the extreme wealth of the capitol and the poverty those in district 12.     this worked well with the use of make-up including long pink eyelashes, an extremly white foundation and pink and gold lips. this tells the viewer that she is wealthy because she can afford extravigant make-up when those in the district can barley afford clothes.   This aspect can be compared to the scene where the tributes arrive off the trian in the capitol. here we see the luxary in the costumes of the capitol citizen caompared to the rags worn compared to the rags worn by peeta and katniss.
