Chapter 17 questions  1- 4
1. Because ellie already feels guilty about all the other laws they have broken and does want to try keeping breaking laws to a minimum and they were not essential

2. A clean war is mean to be a war where they try to keep fighting and abuse to a minimum and have nice living conditions. no killing rape or concentration camps
2.5. they are intent on having a clean war so other country such as america won't get involved

3.the 3 soilders that got hit by the lawnmover bomb 2 of them died they think and two of the people they ran over also died

4. because they don't have the man power for it and they also are using the people/prisoners/ they have for something and don't just have them sitting around doing nothing

5. the soliders were all organinsed when something moved or alerted them. and they were in formation

6. some clues that ellie is starting to think like a solider . in chapter 19 ellie started going over what she would do to elliminate one of the convoys like one person shooting the spot light out and then going full power and shooting the rest through  the wind screen

AIM: to make a marshmallow shooter and work out what forces are acting on it

Equipment: Paper cup, Scissors, Balloon , Marshmallow,

Method :

1. cup of bottom of cup
2. cut of the neck of Balloon
3. stretch the open end of the balloon over the bottom of the cup
4. place marshmallow in cup
5. pull ballon back to fire.

Results:

cup broke but at end more accurate at end hit Mr heath with 3 rapid fire

Discussion: the forces acting on it 

in the cup the force acting on the marshmello were Friction and gravity and support keeping it in the cup

As soon as it leaves the cup  the forces acting were thrust and support over powering drag and gravity

as it moves toward the ground

gravity and drag were pulling it towards the ground

Conculsion:

it worked alright i would use a stronger cup next time  

Aim: To make a wind racer that goes the furthest out of the class.

Popsicle sticks

Method:

1. Construct the mast by adding it onto the trolley thing
2. Make the sail using the plastic bag or the paper. Use The Popsicle sticks to strengthen it so it doesn't cave inwards. We have to shape it correctly so it is able to catch the wind to make it go for longer
3. Add sail to the mast.
4. Strengthen mast just to give it more support.

The Industrial revolution was from 1760 to 1840. During this era many inventions such as
the steam train, the spinning jenny, cement and gas lighting, but some key resources were coal
and iron during this era.

Production of coal and iron was a major factor during the industrial revolution.

These were key resources during the industrial revolution.

Production of coal  was at around 3 million tons of coal in 1700, then it jumped up to 6.25 million tons
annually in 1770 to 1780. That is the equivalent of one and a half weeks in 2020 after reaching
16 million tons of coal in 1815. In 1830 coal production rose to over 30 million tons of coal produced
that year but this a tiny amount compared to today around 5 billion 5 hundred and 15 million tons of
coal Per year.

Then the production of pig iron was another key resource during the industrial revolution,
they also know pig iron as crude iron. This is an intermediate product in the iron production industry.
The product changes over the industrial revolution it went from 1.3 million tons in 1840 to 6.7 million
tons in 1870 to 10.4 million tons in 1913, but in 2018 it was only 5.6 million tons. This is still a vast
amount more than what it was before the industrial revolution, but it has dropped off since the end of
the industrial revolution. Cast iron is produced by removing the impurities of pig iron and but it needs
to have a carbon percentage of above 2.1.

So production of Pig iron and Coal were major factors during the industrial revolution. Both coal and
pig iron production have increased by a substantial amount from before the industrial revolution, but
these resources have taken two different paths since the industrial revolution pig iron production has
decreased.

So over the industrial revolution they made many revolutionary advancements over the era. Such as the
steam engine, the spinning jenny and cement, but the production of coal and pig iron were some
primary resources over the era.
